Levels of Education

Associate’s Degree

An Associate’s degree is a minimum of 90 college credits. If you work towards an Associate’s you can either do a general of focused area of study.

There are three types of Associate’s degrees at Highline: (1) Associate’s of Arts (AA) (2) Associate’s of Science (AS) (3) Associate’s of Applied Science (AAS)

Bachelor’s Degree

A Bachelor’s degree is a minimum of 180 college credits, where you will complete both general education studies as well as courses for a specific area of study. At Highline, we have 7 Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees.

Professional Technical Programs

Professional Technical programs are designed to prepare students for entry into their field of choice, and/or provide additional professional and skills development for people already in their field. Professional Technical programs typically award either AAs degrees or certificates.

Certificates

A certificate is a short-term credential, earned in 1-3 quarters or 15-45 credits. Many certificates can be stacked to create an AA or AAS degree.
