Proverbs 10

[1] A son wise makes rejoice a father, but a son foolish (is) sorrow of his mother.

Proverbs 10

Proverbs of Solomon A son wise makes rejoice a father, but a son, foolish (is) sorrow of his mother. Not do profit treasures of wickedness; but righteousness delivers from death. Not allows to hunger Jehovah the soul of the righteous; but desire the wicked’s He pushes away. (Becomes) poor he who deals (with) a palm lazy; but hand the hard worker’s makes rich. He who gathers in summer (is) a son prudent; he who sleeps in harvest (is) a son causing shame. Blessings (are) in the hand of the just but mouth the wicked’s covers violence. the memory of the just (is) for a blessing, but the name of the wicked shall rot; The wise of heart accepts commands; but the foolish of lips shall be thrust away. He who walks in integrity walks safely but he who perverts his ways shall be known. One winking the eye gives pain, but the foolish of lips shall be thrust away. A fountain of life (is) mouth the righteous; but mouth the wicked’s covers violence. Hatred stirs up strifes, but over all transgressions covers love. On the lips of the discerning is found wisdom; but a rod (is) for the back of one lacking heart. The wise store up knowledge; but mouth the fool’s ruin (is) near. Wealth of the rich man (is) the city of his strength; the ruin of the poor (is) their poverty. The work of the righteous (is) for life; the gain of the wicked (is) for sin. (on) the path to life (is) one keeping instruction; but one forsaking reproof (is) going astray. He who hides hatred (has) lips of falsehood, and one sending out slander he (is) a fool. In abundance of words not ceases transgression; but one restraining his lips (is) prudent silver choice (is) the tongue of the just; the heart of the wicked (is) as a little. the lips of the righteous feed many; but fools in lack of heart die. The blessing of Jehovah, it makes rich; and not He adds pain with it. As laughter to the foolish to work out evil devices; so wisdom (is) to the man of understanding. What is feared by the wicked, that shall come upon him; but the desire of the righteous is given. As passes the tempest, so is not the wicked; but the righteous (is) a foundation everlasting. Like vinegar to the teeth, and like smoke to the eyes, so (is) the lazy man to those sending him. The fear of Jehovah prolongs days; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. The hope of the righteous (is) joy; but the hope of the wicked shall perish. (Is) strength to the upright the way of Jehovah, but ruin to workers of evil. The righteous forever not shall be shaken, but the wicked not shall swell in the land. Mouth the righteous’ flourishes (with) wisdom; but the tongue of perversities shall be cut off The lips of the righteous know what is pleasing; but mouth the wicked’s, (only) perversities.

Proverbs 9

[10] The beginning of Wisdom is the fear of Jehovah, and the knowledge of the Holy ones is understanding.

Proverbs 9

Wisdom has built her house; she has carved her pillars seven. She has slaughtered her slaughter she has mixed her wine; also she has set her table. She has sent out her maidens; she calls on the tops of heights the city’s; Who (is) simple, turn aside here; one heart, lacking she says to him, come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine I have mixed. Forsake the simple and live; and walk in the way of understanding. One rebuking a scorner takes for shame; himself and one reproving a wicked man his own blemish. Not do reprove a scorner, lest he hate you; reprove a wise one, and he will love you. Give to a wise one, and he will be wise more; teach a just man and he will add (to) learning. The beginning of wisdom (is) the fear of Jehovah, and the knowledge of the Holy Ones (is) understanding. For by me shall increase your days; and shall be added to you the years of life. If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; and if you scorn, you alone shall bear (it). A woman of foolishness (is) making noise; simple and not she knows what. And she sits at the door of her house, on a seat (in) the heights of the city, to call to those passing in the way, those going straight (on) their paths; Who (is) simple, turn aside here! And one lacking heart she says to him; waters stolen are sweet, and bread (in) secret is pleasant. But not he does know that the dead (are) there, in the depths of Sheol (are) her guests.

Proverbs 8

[7] For truth shall utter my palate; and hateful to my lips (is) wickedness. In righteousness (are) all words my of mouth; is not in in them a twisted thing and crocked; all of them (are) straight to the discerning, and upright to those finding knowledge.

Proverbs 8

Not wisdom does call? And understanding gives, her voice? on the head of high places on the way, between the paths she stands! At the side of the gates, before the city, entrance, (at) the doors, she cries To you, O men, I call; and my voice (is) to the sons of men Understand, simple ones, prudence; and fools, understand (in) heart! Hear, for excellent things I will speak and from the opening of my lips right things For truth shall utter my palate; and hateful to my lips (is) wickedness. In righteousness (are) all words my of mouth; is not in them a twisted thing and crooked; all of them (are) straight to the discerning, and upright to those finding knowledge. Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than gold choice For better (is) wisdom than jewels, and all delights not can be compaired to it. I, wisdom, dwell (with) prudence; and knowledge of discretions I find out. The fear of Jehovah (is) to hate evil; pride and loftiness and the way evil, and the mouth perverse I hate. To me (is) counsel and sound wisdom; I (am) understanding; to me (is) strength. By me kings reign and princes decree righteousness. By me rulers rule, and nobles all the judges of the earth. I those loving me love, and ones seeking me find me. Riches and honor with me, wealth enduring and righteousness. Better (is) my fruit than gold and pure gold, and my produce than silver choice. In the path of righteousness I walk among the paths of justice, to cause to inherit my lovers wealth; and their storehouses. I will fill up Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of His way, before his works from then From everlasting I was set up; from the beginning, from ancient times of the earth. When were no depths, I travailed, when were no springs heavy with waters. Before the mountains were sunk, before the hills i travailed. While not He had made the earth and the fields, and the head of the dust of the world. In His preparing the heavens there I (was); in His inscribing a circle on the face of the deep; in His firming the clouds from above, in making strong the springs of the deep; in His setting for the sea its limit, that the waters not over should pass over His mouth; in His decreeing foundations the earth’s and I was (at) His side, a workman; and I was (His) delights day (by) day, rejoicing before Him at every time, rejoicing in the world His earth and my delight (were) with sons of men.

And now, (O) sons, listen to Me; for blessed (are) My ways they (who) keep. Hear instruction, and be wise, and not do ignore. Blessed (is) the man listening to me, to watch over my doors day (by) day, guarding the posts of my doors. For the one finding me finds life; and he shall obtain favor from Jehovah but he sinning against Me hurts his own soul; all hating me love death.

Proverbs 7

[6 – 9] For at the window of my house through my lattice i looked down, and i saw among the simple ones i observed among the sons of youth lacking heart; passing through the street beside her corner; and the way to her house he walked, in the twilight, at the evening of day, in the black of night and darkness.

Proverbs 7

My son, keep my words, and my commands treasure  hearts Say to wisdom, my sister you (are); and a kinsman to understanding call; to words smooth, For at the window of my house through my lattice I looked down, and I saw among the simple ones I observed amount the sons of youth lacking heart; passing through street the beside her corner; and the way to her house he walked, in the twilight, at the evening of day, in the black of night and darkness And behold, a women to meet him, (with) dress a harlot’s, and a guarded heart; loud she (is) and stubborn; in her own house not do dwell her feet; now (is she) outside, now in the streets, and at every corner she lies in wait. and she seizes him and disses him; she hardens her face and says to him, sacrifices of peace offering are on me, today I have repaid my vows; therefore I came out to meet you, to seek early your face and I have found you (with) coverings I have spread my couch, stripped clothes of linen of Egypt; I have sprinkled my bed (with) myrh, aloes and cinnamon. Come, let us drink our fill of love until the morning; let us delight ourselves with caresses. For is not (my) husband in his house; he is going in the way far off; a bag of silver he has taken in his hand at the day of the full moon he will enter his house she turned him aside by the sum of her word, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. (He is) going after her at once, as an ox to the slaughter goes; as one chained to chastisement of a fool; until strikes through a dart his liver. Like hastening a bird’s to the snare, and not knowing that for his soul it (is). And now, sons, listen to me, and incline to the words of m mouth; not do turn aside to her ways your heart, not do go astray in her paths. For many (are) the wounded she has made fall; and numerous all her slain ones. The ways of Sheol (are) her house, going down to the rooms of death.

Proverbs 6

[20 – 22] Keep, my son, commands your fathers; and not do forsake the law of you mother. Tie them on your heart continually, bind them on your neck. When you go, it shall lead you, when you lie down, it shall watch over you; and when you awaken, it shall talk with you.

Proverbs 6

My son, if you are surety for your friends; (if) you struck with an alien your palms; you are snared with the words of your mouth, you are captured with the words of your mouth; to this then, my son, and save yourself when you come into the palm of your friend go, humble yourself and be bold (to) your friend. Not do give sleep to your eyes or slumber to your eyelids. Deliver yourself as a gazelle from a hand; and as a bird from hand the fowler’s. Go to the ant, lazy man; see her ways and be wise; of whom not is to her a leader, overseer or ruler, provides in the summer her bread, gathers in the harvest her food. Until when, O lazy man, will you lie down? When you will arise out of your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest; so shall come as one stalking your poverty, and your want as a man of a shield. A man worthless a man of evil, walk (with) a crocked mouth, winking with his eyes. scraping with his feet; pointing with his fingers; perverse things (are) in his heart, he is plotting evil at every time; strife he sends out. Therefore suddenly shall come his calamity, quickly he is broken, and is not healing. Six (things) these hates Jehovah, and seven are hateful to His soul. eyes high, a tongue lying and hands shedding blood innocent, a heart that plots plans evil; feet hurrying to run to evil. He breathes lies, a witness lying, and one sending out strife between brothers. Keep, my son, commands your father’s; and not do forsake the law of your mother. Tie them on your heart continually, bind them on your neck. When you go, it shall lead you; when you lie down. It shall watch over you; and (when) you awaken, it shall talk (with) you. For (is) a lamp the command and the law a light; and the way of life (is) reproofs of instruction; to keep you from the women evil from the smooth tongue of the strange women Not do lust after her beauty in your heart; and not do let her take you with her eyelids. For on behalf of a woman a harlot to the loaf (last) of bread; and wife (another) man’s the soul precious hunts for can take a man fire into his bosom and his clothes not be burned? Or can walk a man onhot coals and his feet not be burned? So (is) one going in to wife his neighbor’s; not shall be innocent everyone touching her. Do not they despise a thief, when he steals to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; but (if) he is found he shall restore sevenfold. all the goods of his house he shall give one doing adultery (with) a woman lacks heart; a destroyer of his own soul he (is) (who) does it. A wound and dishonor he shall find; and his reproach not shall be wiped away. For jealousy (is) the rage of a man; and not he will spare in the day of vengeance. Not he will lift the face of every ransom; and not he will consent when you multiply the bribes.

Proverbs 5

[1] My son, to my wisdom listen; to my understanding bow your ear; to keep discretion, and knowledge your lip may guard

[3] For honey drip the lips of a strange woman, and smoother than oil is her palate.

Proverbs 5

My son, to my wisdom listen; to my understanding bow your ear; to keep discretion, and knowledge your lips may guard. For honey drip the lips of a strange women, and smoother than oil (is) her palate. But she afterwards (is as) bitter as wormwood, sharp as a sword of edges. Her feet go down (to) death; Sheol her steps take hold on. The path of life lest you ponder, are moveable her tracks not you can know (it). And now, O sons, hear me; and do not depart from the words of my mouth. Remove far from her your ways; and not do come near to the door of her house, lest you give to others your vigor, and your years to the cruel one; lest be filled strangers (with) your strength; and your toil in house an alien’s and you moan when your end (comes) when are consumed your flesh and muscle. And you say, How I have hated instruction! And correction despised my heart! and not I have obeyed the voice of my teachers and to those teaching me not turned my ear. As a little I was in all evil, in the midst of the assembly and congregation. Drink waters from your own cistern and flowing waters from the midst of your own well. Should be dispersed your springs outside in the streets (like) rivers of water? Let them be for you, you alone, and not for strangers with you. Let be your fountain blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth. (she is) a deer loving, and a doe graceful her breast let satisfy you at time every, in her love be ravished always. And why will you be ravished, my son by an alien women, and hug bosom a foreigner’s. For (are) before the eyes of Jehovah the ways of a man, and all his tracks He is pondering. His own iniquities will capture him, the wicked; and with the cords of his sin he shall be seized He shall die in absence of instruction and in greatness his folly’s he goes astray.

Proverbs 4

Proverbs 4

Not do forsake her and she will keep you; love her and she will guard you. The first thing (is) wisdom; get wisdom, and with all your getting, get understanding. Hear, my son, and receive my saying; and shall be many to you the years of life. In the way of wisdom I have taught you; I have made you walk in the tracks of uprightness. When you go not shall be narrowed your steps, and if you run not you shall stumble. Take hold on instruction; not do let go; keep her for she (is) your life. On the path of the wicked not do enter, and not do advance in the way of evil ones. Ignore it; not do pass into it; turn aside from upon it and pass on. For not do they sleep if not they have done evil; and is taken away their sleep if not they cause to stumble. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and wine of violence they drink. But the path of the righteous (is) as bright a light going and shining till is established the day. The way of the wicked (is) as darkness; not they do know at what they stumble. My son, to my words listen; to what I say bow your ear; not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the center or your heart; For life they (are) to those who find them and to all his flesh healing. With all diligence keep your heart for out of it (are) the issues of life. Turn away from you the crooked mouth, and devious lips put far from you. Your eyes to the front let look; and yours eyelids let look straight before you. Ponder the track of your feet, and all your ways will be set. Not do turn right or left; turn aside your foot from evil.

Proverbs 3

Proverbs 3

My son, my teaching not do forget; but my command let guard your heart; for length of days and years of life and peace they shall add to you. Trust to Jehovah with all your heart; and to your (own) understanding not do lean, in all your ways acknowledge, Him and He shall direct your paths Not do be wise in your own eyes; fear Jehovah and depart from evil. Healing shall be to your navel and moisture to your bones. Honor Jehovah from your substance and from the first fruits of all your produce; and shall be filled your barns (with) plenty; and (with) new wine your wine vats shall burst. The chastening of Jehovah, my son, not do despise; and not do loathe His correction; for whom loves Jehovah He corrects, even as a father the son he is pleased with Blessed (is) the man finding wisdom, and the man getting understanding For is better its gain than the gain of silver; and more than gold its produce. (More) precious she than jewels; and all your delights not are likened with her Length of days (is) in her right (hand) in her left (hand) riches and honor. Her ways (are) ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. A tree of life she (is) for those taking hold on her; and those holding her (are) blessed. Jehovah by wisdom founded the earth; He fixed the heavens by understanding. By His knowledge the depths were broken up; and the clouds dropped down dew. My son, let not them depart from your eyes; keep sound wisdom and discretion; and they shall be life to your soul, and grace to your neck. Proverbs 2

[10 – 12] When enters wisdom into your heart; and knowledge to your soul is pleasing; discretion shall keep you; understanding shall watch over you to deliver you from the way evil; from the man speaking perverse things.

Proverbs 2

Proverbs 2

My son, if you will receive my words, and my commands hide with you, so that you bow to wisdom your ear. you shall extend your ear to understanding; for, understanding you cry, for understanding lifting up your voice; if you seek her as silver, and as hidden treasures you search for her; then you shall know the fear of Jehovah, and the knowledge of God find. For Jehovah gives wisdom, from His mouth (are) knowledge and understanding. For leads down to death her house, and to the dead her tracks. All going in to her not return; and not they reach the paths of life. In order that you may walk in the paths of the good, and the paths of the righteous may keep. For the upright shall dwell (in) the land; and the blameless shall remain in it. But the wicked from the earth shall be cut off; and the treacherous shall be rooted up from it.

Proverbs 1

Wisdom is a she

[20] wisdom in the street cries aloud; in the square she give her voice

[20] wisdom cries aloud in the plaza; she gives her voice in the square

Proverbs 1

Proverbs 1

The Proverbs of Solomon, son of David , king of Israel; to know wisdom and instruction to understand the words of understanding; to receive instruction in prudence rightness and judgement and uprightness; to give to the simple prudence; to the young man knowledge and discretion. Hears the wise and increases learning, and the understanding wise counsel will get to understand a proverb and an enigma and the words of the wise and their riddles. The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; wisdom and instructions fools despise. Hear, my son, instructions your fathers; and not do forsake teachings your mothers, for an ornament of grace they are to your head, and necklaces for your neck. My son, if lure you sinners; not do be willing. If they say, walk with us, let us lie in wait for blood; let us lurk for the innocent without cause; let us swallow them as Sheol alive; and whole, as those going into the pit. All wealth precious we shall find; we shall fill our houses with spoil. your lot let fall with us; purse one shall be for all of us. My son, not do walk in the way with them! Hold back your foot from their path; for their feet to evil run, and they hasten to shed blood. For in vain is spread the net in the eyes of every lord of the wing. And they for their own blood lie in wait; they lurk secretly for their own souls. So are the ways of everyone who gets unjust gain; the soul of his owner takes. Wisdom in the street cries aloud; in the square she gives her voice. At the head of the common places she calls; at the opening of the gates; in the city her words she speaks: Until when, simple ones, you will love simplicity? And scorners scorn will desire for them? And fools will hate knowledge? Turn back at my warning; behold, I will pour out to you my spirit; I will make known my words to you. Because I have called, and you refused I extend a hand yet none inclines. And you ignored all my advice, and my warning not you wanted. Also I in your calamity will laugh; I will mock when comes your dread; when comes like a storm your dread; and your calamity like a tempest arrives; when comes upon you distress and constraint. Then they shall call on me and not I will answer; they shall seek me early but not shall find me. That they hated knowledge, and fear of Jehovah not chose. Not they want my counsel, they despised all my reproof; and they shall eat of the fruit of their own way, and with their own devices be filled. For the going astray of the simple slay them; and the ease of fools destroys them. But one listening to me shall dwell securely, and shall be at ease from the fear of evil.
